Who We Are

The United Way of Dutchess County is in the business of impact -- making a measurable difference in people's lives, and making our community better. We create this change by providing an easy means for people to donate money to a wide array of nonprofit programs that are serving community needs. We also ensure that these programs are the most effective to make the changes needed by conducting a periodic Community Needs Assessment, which surveys the status of health and human service needs in Dutchess County for all life stages.

As the nation's leading community solutions provider, United Way invests in and activates the resources to make the greatest possible impact in communities across America. The United Way movement includes approximately 1,400 community-based United Way organizations, operating with support of United Way America headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia. Each is independent, separately incorporated, and governed by local volunteers.

United Ways bring communities together to focus on the most important needs in the community -- building partnerships, forging consensus and leveraging resources to make a measurable difference.
