Your Gifts Helped Prepare Gabriella For Success

"Gabriella is our first child and we read all the books, and searched on the internet, but couldn't find information about what worried us.  Her development Check Up helped us understand what we needed to do to help her now, and into the future."  Clarissa and John Blakely, of their daughter Gabriella.

As first time parents, John and Clarissa Blakely thought they were doing everything right for their 6-month old daughter Gabriella.  They read all the parenting books parents and friends recommended.  They took Gabby for regular check-ups and followed the doctor's advice.  But they noticed some issues, and did not know what to do. 

After a 45-minute Development Check Up at Astor Services for Children and Families, the professional screener recommended several activities to help Gabby improve in those areas that she was delayed. 

"The doctor gave us recommendations our doctor gave us a little bit of advice but we needed more.  The depth of response was what we were looking for and that's why it was so valuable to us."  John

Gabby will continue to come for screenings every 6 months because her parents now know how important it is to catch delays early, when it is faster and easier to address them.  They are confident that by the time she enters kindergarten, she will be ready with all the skills she needs to succeed.
