Holiday Happy Hour December 7, 2011
Guests were asked to bring a gift card or monetary donation to support the men and women in our area struggling to make ends meet this Holiday season. YLU's drive was about fostering financial independence by allowing people to feel good purchasing the items their families need most this Holiday season - gas to visit family, food for the table, money for heat, or gifts for their children handpicked at the store. They raised over $420 in gift card donations to be distributed to nominated families in programs at Dutchess County Community Action Partnership, Catholic Charities and RECAP, Inc.

2nd Annual Holiday Happy Hour 2010
United Way of Dutchess County’s Young Leaders United collected four large cartons filled with over 55 gifts and $300 in donations at a holiday gathering on Dec. 16 at Cosimo’s in Poughkeepsie. The donations will help House of Hope, a domestic violence service provider in Dutchess County.

The intermittent rain didn't deter more than 1,200 from attending the fundraiser for United Way of Dutchess County or the 39 vehicles from being on hand for everyone to enjoy. Horns of vehicles of all sizes tooted and blared, sometimes in chorus, throughout Sunday, June 6 at the Young Leaders United's 2nd Annual Touch-A-Truck event at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck. The event raised $10,000 for the Community Fund!

United Way of Dutchess County’s Young Leaders United collected three large cartons filled with 60 gifts and $350 in donations at a holiday gathering on Dec. 15 at Cosimo’s in Poughkeepsie. The money was used to purchase a Wii gaming system, two extra controllers with Nun Chucks and the Wii Sports Resort game for the organization.

Holiday Happy Hour
Young Leaders United invited their co-workers and friends to join them at Cosimo's in Poughkeepsie on December 15, 2009 to raise money and toys for Holiday Helping Hand. 50 people attended this event, generously donating and enjoying the drink specials and pasta station. They raised $350 and collected 3 boxes of toys for Abilities First.

2009 Dutchess County Classic
Hosted by the Mid-Hudson Road Runners Club, the Dutchess County Classic is an annual race held in Wappingers Falls every September that benefits United Way of Dutchess County. Young Leaders United volunteered in a variety of ways throughout the day: setting up, cheering on racers and ensuring they stayed on course and preparing and serving snacks at the food tent. They also ran a tent of their own to pass out information on 2-1-1 and our campaign. The Classic raised $3,000 for the Community Fund this year.
2009 Campaign Kick-Off
United Way of Dutchess County Kicked off its 2009 Campaign to raise $1.7 million on September 15, 2009. Young Leaders United had a table to show their support and share their enthusiasm for the cause.

First Annual Touch-A-Truck
Hosted by the Young Leaders United on July 12, 2009 at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds, this event pulled in over $10,000 for the Community fund and attracted over 1,500 visitors! There were more than 40 trucks, a helicopter, moon bounces, an educational play tent, child educators, finger printing, freebies and more!

2008 Holiday Helping Hand Project
Young Leaders United raised funds among its members to participate in the 2008 Holiday Helping Hand program. They raised a few hundred dollars, purchasing an ice hockey table and a ping-pong table for Community Family Development. The group donated the items during a holiday party at the center where they helped the kids put their tables together.
2008 Campaign Kick-Off
United Way of Dutchess County Kicked off its 2008 Campaign to raise $2.2 million on September 5, 2009. Young Leaders United sold Live United T-shirts at the event, and were able to meet Guest Speaker, Olympic Gymnast and Gold Medalist, Dominique Dawes!
